Design Brief
The Objective
Jane McGee, owner of Blue Cypress Ceramics, creates beautifully handcrafted and functional artwork that is meant to be used and loved. Her inspiration comes from growing up along the Patuxent River in Maryland. She recalls the water shimmering in hues of blue and green and the blue cypress trees that lined the shore.
Her small business required a logo and visual brand guide that evoked the "Patuxent River Aesthetic".
The Solution
The main logo features a cluster of blue cypress seeds, and the secondary logo is a single seed that is simple and refined enough to become a part of many of her designs.
A palette of warm, rich, and earthy colors complements clean, elegant typefaces.
